Referència: 10408
Descripció:

JOB POSITION: POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW-COVID19 PROJECT
The B cell biology group at IMIM is looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a keen interest in
the antibody mediated immune response in COVID19.
THE LABORATORY:
The laboratory is located at IMIM Foundation (https://www.imim.es). This center is an integral part of the
PRBB, one of the largest biomedical research clusters in Southern Europe. PRBB provides an intellectually
stimulating environment that hosts nearly one thousand scientists organized in eighty different research
groups (http://www.prbb.org).
https://www.imim.es/programesrecerca/inflamacio/en_bcellbiology.html
WHAT WE OFFER:
We offer a very stimulating and welcoming working environment in a highly competitive research group
dedicated to the analysis of the cellular and signaling networks underlying mature B cell responses,
including immunoglobulin heavy chain class switching and somatic hypermutation.
Most relevant publication in the last 5 years: Chen K et al Nat Rev Immunol 2020; Sintes J. et al. Nature
Communication 2017; Magri G et al. Immunity 2017; Magri G et al. Nature Immunology 2014
THE PROJECT: https://www.biocat.cat/en/current-news/blog/5-covid-19-therapies-catalan-research
TASKS:
The selected candidate will study the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 in COVID19 patients by high
dimension immune profiling of peripheral blood B cells populations and serological assays. The candidate
will also generate SARS-CoV-2 specific monoclonal antibodies using a strategy that involves amplification
and cloning of the variable portion of the B cell receptor from B cells of highly responder COVID19+
patients. The selected candidate will be on charge, along with the PI, of the experimental part of the project
as well as the analysis, processing and the dissemination of results.
STUDIES:
PhD in biomedicine, immunology, molecular biology or related fields
EXPERIENCE and KNOWLEDGE
• Wide experience and knowledge in the following lab techniques are highly recommended: flow
cytometry and FACsorting, ELISA, cloning and molecular biology, cell culture, blood sample processing
and PBMC isolation
• Candidate should have excellent communication and multi-tasking skills, be team oriented and pro
active
• Candidate must be proficient in oral and written English
CONDITION:
This is a 1-year appointment with possibility of renewal based upon satisfactory job performance,
continuing availability of funds, and on-going operational needs.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
All application will be welcome irrespective of race, nationality, gender or sexual orientation.
Application in: https://www.imim.es/ofertes-treball/view_contracte.php?id=1537
Enquiries should be sent to gmagri@imim.es (Dr. Giuliana Magri) indicating “postdoc call 2020” in the
subject
